Kenali Batas Aman Konsumsi Kafein untuk Mahasiswa"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Bandung <\/strong>\u2013 Kopi sudah menjadi bagian dari keseharian mahasiswa, entah sebagai teman begadang saat mengejar <em>deadline<\/em>, diskusi kelompok, atau sekadar alasan untuk <em>nongkrong<\/em> di kafe. Bahkan, banyak yang merasa <em>\u201cnggak ngopi, nggak hidup.\u201d<\/em> Hal ini wajar karena kafein dalam kopi yang kita minum memang bekerja dengan cara memblokir adenosin, zat kimia di otak yang membuat kita merasa ngantuk. Akibatnya, kita jadi lebih fokus, segar, dan bersemangat. Namun, pertanyaannya, seberapa aman sebenarnya konsumsi kopi bagi mahasiswa?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kopi memiliki beberapa manfaat: meningkatkan konsentrasi saat belajar, menjaga <em>mood<\/em> tetap stabil, bahkan membantu meningkatkan performa fisik sebelum berolahraga ringan. Tapi, efek positif ini hanya berlaku jika kopi dikonsumsi dalam batas yang wajar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Menurut Food and Drug Administration (FDA), badan yang menangani obat obatan di Amerika, batas aman konsumsi kafein untuk orang dewasa sehat adalah sekitar 400 mg per hari atau setara dengan tiga sampai empat cangkir kopi. Jika melebihi batas tersebut, bukannya produktif, justru tubuh bisa mengalami jantung berdebar, sulit tidur, gangguan lambung, hingga rasa cemas berlebihan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Steven Meredith, seorang peneliti dari Johns Hopkins University, menyebut bahwa kafein memang dapat membantu kewaspadaan dan performa kognitif, tetapi efeknya sangat bergantung pada dosis dan kondisi tubuh masing-masing individu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cTerlalu banyak kafein justru bisa mengganggu ritme tidur dan meningkatkan tingkat kecemasan,\u201d ujarnya dalam <em>Journal of Caffeine Research<\/em> (2013).&nbsp;<br><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Hal ini menjadi penting karena banyak mahasiswa salah kaprah dengan mengira semakin banyak kopi, berarti semakin bersemangat, padahal, energi sejati tubuh tidak bisa diisi ulang hanya dengan kafein.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Energi yang benar-benar dibutuhkan mahasiswa datang dari tidur yang cukup, pola makan bergizi, dan aktivitas fisik yang teratur. Tanpa hal-hal tersebut, kopi hanya akan menjadi penunda rasa lelah, bukan solusi jangka panjang. Bahkan, Dr. Michael Breus, seorang ahli tidur asal Amerika, menegaskan dalam bukunya <em>The Sleep Doctor\u2019s Diet Plan<\/em> (2011), tidak ada minuman energi atau kopi yang bisa menggantikan fungsi tidur berkualitas bagi tubuh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kesimpulannya, kopi memang bisa menjadi teman baik mahasiswa, tapi harus dikonsumsi secara bijak. Jika terlalu sering mengandalkan kopi untuk bertahan dari begadang atau rasa lelah, bisa jadi, itu adalah sinyal bahwa tubuhmu sebenarnya butuh istirahat, bukan tambahan kafein.
